Yorkshire and North East sea trout netting season
We consulted on the potential options to extend the beach netting fishing for sea trout in Yorkshire and the North East.
562 people respondended. 93% opposed the extension and 7% were in favour.
Based on the evidence received, we deem it not appropriate to recommend an extension to the sea trout netting season.
Boat registration charges proposals
This references boat registration charges proposals from 1 January 2022.
Responses showed support for most proposals but strong opposition to area-based charging and higher fees, as well as concerns about the quality of the current service.
In response, we have removed area-based charging, kept many proposed changes, and introduced smaller charge increases to create a fairer, more consistent system.
Flood risk management plans
255 responsed, highlighting strong support for partnership working, nature-based solutions, a catchment-based approach, better alignment with other plans, and clearer information.
We have updated the flood risk management plans and assessments, publishing a “You said, we did” document that explains how feedback has shaped actions and commitments through to 2027.
